Panel repair
A dent in your bodywork doesn't always mean a new panel. We assess every bit of damage and explain whether it's worth repairing or replacing before we touch anything.
Why choose us for panel repair
Repair first, replace if needed
If a panel can be saved properly, we repair it. If not, we explain why replacing it makes more sense and what part options there are.
Fully equipped workshop
We have a dedicated bodyshop, chassis jigs and the equipment needed to work to the standards every manufacturer requires.
Body and paint under one roof
Once repaired, the panel goes straight into our paint shop. No transfers, no middlemen.
What's included
Every repair is different, but the process always follows the same steps so the result lasts.
Damage inspection
We check the damaged panel and the area around it, including mountings and reinforcements you can't see at first glance.
Straightening the metal
We bring the panel back to its original shape with specialist tools, working from behind whenever access allows.
Panel replacement
When a panel can't be saved, we replace it and adjust it so the gaps with neighbouring panels match the factory finish.
Preparation for paint
We apply only as much body filler as needed and the right primer so the paint bonds well and the repair doesn't show.
Protecting bare metal
We treat exposed metal to stop rust forming, which matters in the salty sea air of southern Tenerife.
Not every panel can be repaired properly. If the damage affects structural areas or the metal is badly stretched, we'll recommend replacement and explain it in the estimate.
Repair or replace: how we decide
The question we hear most is whether a panel can be fixed. It depends on several things: the size and depth of the dent, whether the metal is stretched or just pushed in, whether there are creases along edges or swage lines, what the panel is made of and whether the impact has reached inner reinforcements. A wing with a wide, shallow dent usually repairs well. A door with a bent frame or a sharp crease across a body line is almost always better replaced.
Cost matters too. Sometimes a repair takes so many hours that fitting a new panel works out cheaper. We show you the figures in the estimate, which you can ask for in writing before you authorise any work.
Some parts leave no room for manoeuvre: if the impact has bent a chassis leg, a pillar or a crossmember, we're no longer talking about outer panels but about structure, and the job moves on to our chassis and structural repair service. We'll tell you plainly if that's the case.
How we work on the metal
First we remove whatever is in the way: trim panels, lights, mouldings or the bumper itself. That lets us see the dent from behind and push the metal out from inside instead of filling it from the outside. The less filler, the longer the repair lasts.
Then we level the surface, check the panel's lines by light and by hand, and prepare the area for paint. If the dent is small and the paint hasn't cracked, it may not even need painting. In that case we'll talk to you about paintless dent repair.
- Careful removal of any parts in the way.
- Straightening from the inside whenever possible.
- Checking gaps and alignment with neighbouring panels.
- Anti-corrosion protection on worked metal.
- Refitting and a final check of locks, lights and gaps.
The preparation you don't see
Much of a repair's quality lies under the paint. Once the metal is straightened, we strip the paint from the worked area, because nothing bonds well to a dented, cracked surface. We feather the step between bare metal and the paint layers so it doesn't show later, and key the surrounding area so the filler grips. Then we blow off the dust and degrease: any trace of grease or silicone weakens adhesion.
Before filling, we protect the bare metal with an anti-corrosion primer. Filler goes on in thin layers, crossing each pass to avoid trapping air, and is sanded with progressively finer grits, without big jumps, until the panel's line is spot on. On top goes the primer surfacer, which seals and levels the surface before the colour. Rush this stage and, a few months later, you get sinkage, sanding marks or edges showing through.
After the metalwork comes the paint
Once repaired, the panel moves on to paint. We match the colour to the rest of the car and apply clear coat to protect the finish from the southern sun. The paintwork we carry out comes with a lifetime paint warranty.
If the damage comes from an insurance claim, we can deal with your insurer for you: see how our insurer liaison works. And if you can't get to the workshop, we can arrange collection and delivery so you don't lose your morning.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a panel repair take?
It depends on the damage, whether parts need ordering and paint drying times. We give you an estimate when we quote and let you know if anything changes.
Will I be able to see where the dent was?
That's exactly what we aim to avoid. We reshape the metal and paint it to match. If we think a repair won't come out perfect, we'll tell you and look at replacing the panel.
Do you use original parts?
We can fit an original part or one of equivalent quality. We set out the options in the estimate so you can choose.
Can I follow the repair while the car is with you?
Yes. We keep you updated and you can check the real-time status of the job.
We work with your insurance company
If your car has suffered an incident covered by your insurance, you don't have to be the go-between: we coordinate with your insurer and its loss adjuster so the repair is authorised and done properly.
It's one of the reasons many customers come to us: less paperwork, fewer phone calls and the car back the way it should be.

See serviceWhat people often believe, and what actually happens
Six ideas we often hear at the garage that are worth clearing up.
“A car that's been in an accident is never right again.”
If the structure is brought back to its measurements on a jig and joints, sealing and protection are reproduced as at the factory, the repair is sound and safe.
“My insurer decides where my car is repaired.”
As a rule you can choose the garage. Some policies offer perks at their partner garages: we help you read yours before you decide.
“A small dent can wait.”
A scrape that lifts the paint leaves bare metal exposed. With the sun and salty air in the south of the island, corrosion sets in sooner than you think.
“Eco-friendly paint is lower quality.”
A paint with fewer solvents can give an equally durable finish. What makes the difference is the preparation and the application.
“A used car that looks good has never been in a crash.”
A well-polished respray can go unnoticed at first glance. A paint thickness gauge and a check of panel gaps, sealing and welds give it away.
“It doesn't matter where it's painted: paint is paint.”
What you can't see —surface preparation, anti-corrosion protection and painting in a booth— is what decides how long the repair lasts.
