Dents and dings
Tight car parks at shopping centres and beaches leave their mark. Many of those dents can be removed without repainting, and others only need a small, localised touch-up.
Why not leave that dent for later
The paint may be damaged
A small dent can crack the paint even if you can't see it. Moisture gets in and, with the salty air, rust follows.
Often no paint is needed
If the paint is intact, paintless dent repair keeps your car's original finish.
Fixing it early is usually simpler
A fresh dent with no rust is easier to deal with than one that has been out in the weather for months.
What's included
We pick the technique to suit the dent, not the other way round. We'll tell you which one we're using and why.
Inspection under light
We examine the dent under low-angle lighting to see its real shape and check whether the paint has cracked.
Paintless dent repair
When the paint is sound, we gradually push the metal out from behind until it's back in shape, with no filler and no paint.
Repair with touch-up
If the paint is damaged, we repair the metal and paint only the area that needs it, blending the colour in.
Small dents on any panel
Doors, wings, bonnet, roof or tailgate: we also look at dents in awkward spots.
Paintless dent repair has its limits: it won't work if the paint is cracked, if the dent sits on a sharp edge or if the metal has stretched. In those cases we'll suggest the most suitable alternative.
What paintless dent repair is
Paintless dent repair reshapes the metal by pushing it out from inside with rods and levers, using small, controlled pressure. There's no sanding, no filler and no repainting, so the car keeps its factory paint. It's ideal for door dings, trolley knocks and small impacts without scratches.
Doing it properly means getting behind the panel, which sometimes involves removing trim, lights or the headlining. We take care so that everything goes back in place with no rattles or gaps.
How long it takes depends on the size and shape of the dent. A small, round one can be done fairly quickly; a long one, or one over an area with inner bracing, takes more patience. We'll let you know when we assess it.
When paint is needed
If we find that the paint is cracked or chipped, or that the metal has stretched, paintless repair isn't enough. We then repair the metal, prepare the area and carry out a partial respray, blending the colour across the panel so there's no visible change in shade.
- Intact paint and a smooth dent: usually paintless dent repair.
- Cracked or chipped paint: metal repair and paint touch-up.
- Crease along an edge or body line: we assess repair versus replacement.
- Several dents on the same panel: we look at each one and propose an overall fix.
Typical dents in southern Tenerife
Tight parking bays, steep streets, manoeuvring in shared garages and hire cars with doors flung open: side knocks and door dings are among the most common damage we see. Many look minor, but with the salty air, a tiny crack in the paint can end up as corrosion. Dealing with it early is the best way to keep the panel sound.
If someone hit your car while it was parked and they can be identified, their insurance may cover it. Read how to fill in the accident report form and how our insurer liaison can help.
Ask for an estimate by sending us photos on WhatsApp. That's enough for an initial idea, which we confirm once we see the car. If you'd rather not drive over, we can arrange collection and delivery.
Frequently asked questions
Can I send you photos for an initial assessment?
Yes. Photos of the dent from the front and from an angle help us advise you. We give a final assessment when we see the car, as workshop lighting shows details a photo misses.
Does paintless dent repair leave marks?
Done properly, it shouldn't show. If the dent is very deep or in a tricky spot, it may not come out perfect, and we'll tell you before we start.
Does it work for hail damage?
Paintless dent repair is the usual technique for hail damage, although hail isn't common in Tenerife. If it's your case, we assess it like any other dent.
Will I lose the factory paint?
Paintless dent repair doesn't touch the paint, so the original finish stays. If painting is needed, our paintwork comes with a lifetime paint warranty.

See serviceWhat people often believe, and what actually happens
Six ideas we often hear at the garage that are worth clearing up.
“A car that's been in an accident is never right again.”
If the structure is brought back to its measurements on a jig and joints, sealing and protection are reproduced as at the factory, the repair is sound and safe.
“My insurer decides where my car is repaired.”
As a rule you can choose the garage. Some policies offer perks at their partner garages: we help you read yours before you decide.
“A small dent can wait.”
A scrape that lifts the paint leaves bare metal exposed. With the sun and salty air in the south of the island, corrosion sets in sooner than you think.
“Eco-friendly paint is lower quality.”
A paint with fewer solvents can give an equally durable finish. What makes the difference is the preparation and the application.
“A used car that looks good has never been in a crash.”
A well-polished respray can go unnoticed at first glance. A paint thickness gauge and a check of panel gaps, sealing and welds give it away.
“It doesn't matter where it's painted: paint is paint.”
What you can't see —surface preparation, anti-corrosion protection and painting in a booth— is what decides how long the repair lasts.
