Insurance handling
After a knock, dealing with the insurer can be more stressful than the damage itself. We work with your company and help you at every step, from the accident report to delivery.
Why leave the handling to us
We work with your insurer
We coordinate the loss assessment and repair authorisation with your insurance company.
Your right to choose
Even if your insurer suggests another workshop, you can generally choose where your car is repaired.
Informed throughout
You know where the claim and the repair are up to without chasing anyone.
What we do for you
We handle the technical side and the workshop's communication, while you keep your relationship with the insurer.
Help with the report
We help you understand what details the accident report form or claim notification needs.
Damage assessment
We inspect the car and prepare the technical information for the loss assessment.
Coordination with the adjuster
We give access to the car and the details of the damage so the assessment is complete.
Authorised repair
Once authorised, we carry out the repair and keep you informed.
Clarity on the excess
If your policy has an excess, we explain which part you pay.
Cover, excess and the final decision on the claim depend on your policy and your insurer. We support and inform you, but we can't decide on the insurer's behalf.
A claim, step by step
- After the accident, you fill in the accident report form if another vehicle is involved, or notify your insurer of the claim.
- You bring us the car or ask for it to be delivered by roadside assistance.
- We inspect the damage and notify the insurer for the loss assessment.
- The loss adjuster assesses the damage and the insurer authorises the repair.
- We repair the car and keep you informed.
- We hand it back; if there's an excess, you only pay that part according to your policy.
Free choice of repairer
It's one of the most common questions. Your insurer may recommend approved workshops, but as a general rule the free choice of repairer lets you take the car wherever you prefer. What can vary by policy is how the repair is paid for or whether there are extra conditions. We explain it in detail in our free choice of repairer guide.
Loss assessment, demystified
The loss adjuster is a professional who assesses the damage for the insurer. Our role is to make sure they see everything they need: visible damage and damage that appears once parts are removed. If something new turns up after the first assessment, we report it so it can be extended. There's more in our loss assessment guide.
If the damage is serious
When the repair cost approaches or exceeds the car's value, the insurer may declare it a total loss. It's a delicate situation and it pays to know your rights. We explain it in our total loss guide.
A tip after a knock: take photos of the damage and the scene before moving the car if it's safe to do so, keep a copy of the accident report and note the claim number your insurer gives you. That information speeds up the assessment and avoids misunderstandings. If the car can't be driven, call your policy's roadside assistance and ask them to bring it to our workshop.
What we don't do
We don't decide for your insurer and we can't guarantee what it will cover: that depends on your policy. Nor will we ask you to sign anything you don't understand. We explain every step so you can make informed decisions.
If you've just had an accident, start with our claims page. If you already have a claim number, book an appointment or get in touch.
Frequently asked questions
Which insurers do you work with?
We work with your insurance company. If you have questions about your particular case, call us with your policy details and we'll look into it.
My insurer told me to go to another workshop. Can I come to you?
Generally yes, thanks to the free choice of repairer. Check your policy conditions in case there's anything specific and, if you like, we'll go through them together.
Will I have to pay anything?
It depends on your cover and whether your policy has an excess. We'll explain before we start.
What if the adjuster misses some damage?
If hidden damage appears when parts are removed, we report it to the insurer so it can be reviewed.

See serviceWhat people often believe, and what actually happens
Six ideas we often hear at the garage that are worth clearing up.
“A car that's been in an accident is never right again.”
If the structure is brought back to its measurements on a jig and joints, sealing and protection are reproduced as at the factory, the repair is sound and safe.
“My insurer decides where my car is repaired.”
As a rule you can choose the garage. Some policies offer perks at their partner garages: we help you read yours before you decide.
“A small dent can wait.”
A scrape that lifts the paint leaves bare metal exposed. With the sun and salty air in the south of the island, corrosion sets in sooner than you think.
“Eco-friendly paint is lower quality.”
A paint with fewer solvents can give an equally durable finish. What makes the difference is the preparation and the application.
“A used car that looks good has never been in a crash.”
A well-polished respray can go unnoticed at first glance. A paint thickness gauge and a check of panel gaps, sealing and welds give it away.
“It doesn't matter where it's painted: paint is paint.”
What you can't see —surface preparation, anti-corrosion protection and painting in a booth— is what decides how long the repair lasts.
